As I mentioned in my Favorite New Fashion Pieces For Summer post, it’s hot as hell in Florida during the summer (and thanks to global warming, it’s hot as hell everywhere else too). The heat is just a mess really, but I will be damned if I let this mess stop me from wearing makeup/beauty products. So let’s have a chat, shall we? A chat where I tell you my favorite beauty pieces for summer (get ready y’all, this is a long one).

fiWetZoeQrePrZw0+cUaiw_thumb_2c1f1.) Clinique Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer – I first tried this moisturizer out when I received it in a Sephora play box. I had been on the hunt for a good, everyday moisturizer that I can wear at night or when I’m spending the day in doors and don’t need SPF. I no longer get the Sephora play box, because fuck that, but I’m glad I did when this was in the box because… I love this moisturizer.

I have really oily, acne prone skin so hydrating moisturizers aren’t usually my go-to. I usually prefer things that make me more matte, but this moisturizer is so nice. It has a cream/gel texture that isn’t watery and it goes on very smoothly, it feels like nothing on my face. And it does wonders for my dry spots. It doesn’t control my oil (obviously) but it doesn’t make me feel super greasy either. I got the $9.50 sample size from Sephora and the large size is $29.50. You can buy it from Sephora by clicking here.

Y3NjBWdvTKqDGA8eRICgjQ_thumb_2c142.) Pure Clay Mask by L’Oreal – This mask is my go to every time I feel like my skin has gone to shit, which, surprise, happens fairly often. It’s your typical clay mask that dries down and makes it so that you can’t really move your face. It’s meant to detoxify your skin and make it look brighter, which I find it does. It really helps clear out my pores, and it leaves my face feeling really smooth and clean. This mask also helps with my acne a little bit.

I will say though, this mask has a very strong perfume smell. The scent is pretty, but it’s also potent so be weary. You can read more about the mask and purchase it by clicking here.

mW0h2AbPQBS7qpVn4ZYnHQ_thumb_2c153.) Dr, Jart+ Every Sun Day UV Sun Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – Suns out, guns out? More like suns out, sunscreen out because I don’t want the sun to burn my face and make it more unevenly colored than it already is. Sunscreen is crucial people, CRUCIAL.

This facial sunscreen by Dr. Jart+ has a high SPF and a nice consistency that feels more like a moisturizer than a sunscreen. I also use the Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer, which has an SPF of 47, but it goes on really thicc (lol) and it leaves more prominent layer of white on my face. As a result, the Dr. Jart+ is more of an everyday moisturizer for me and I tend to use the Josie Maran one when I know I’m going to be directly in the sun for more than 10 minutes, like on beach days.

The Dr. Jart+ moisturizer does have a bit of a grey/white cast when you first put it on, but it doesn’t linger. This retails for $34 at Sephora and you can purchase it by clicking here.

MPOkZUiYTg6+juI%+szSZw_thumb_2c1c4.) Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation –For summer I wanted a foundation that is a little on the lighter side in terms of consistency so that my face still covered but the makeup won’t feel like it’s cakey or melting off during the day. The Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear foundation by Lancôme has been a makeup guru cult favorite for ages, but I avoided buying it for ages because it’s expensive as shit. Seeing as I wanted a new, lighter weight foundation for summer, I finally decided to splurge and get this one (with the sephora VIB 15% off because girl).

I love that this foundation comes in wide variety shades (apparently this is really difficult to do *cough*) and that it’s not too thick, but is very buildable. It also doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a ton of foundation when I do build it up.

I’m excited to see how this holds for the rest of summer (please do not let me down Lancôme). This retails for $47.00 (I know) and you can check out all the details about the foundation on Sephora’s website here. And for those wondering, I got this foundation in the shade 555 Suede C.

eLju4S88QYq7JkCkQMN0kg_thumb_2c295.) BareMinerals Powder Foundation – I picked up this powder because there are a lot of days during summer where I’m going out for a brief amount of time and want a decent amount of coverage on my face, but I don’t necessarily want to put on (waste) foundation. It’s basically a really good high coverage face powder, not much else to say really. It doesn’t last all day, but you can always reapply. This retails for $30.00 and you can purchase it on Sephora’s website here. And for those wondering, I got this in the shade Cocoa 30.

SC4b9BHeSa+h3Z0sOS7glQ_thumb_2c196.) NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick – This is basically a stick highlighter that you can just pop on to add a little bit of glow before heading out the door. I usually use this on days where I’m wearing minimal makeup and just need a little something extra. I got this in the shade Topaz Tan, but it comes 12 different shades, including pink/red shades for all your cream blush needs. This is available on Ulta’s website for $7.99 and you can purchase it here.

jtVpy6oIRLqC+V0jhyU1sg_thumb_2c2b7.) Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 – This is basically an overpriced chapstick that works wonders. It’s so creamy, dreamy and smooth. It leaves your lips feeling soft and hydrated without needed to constantly reapply. I got this in the color Rosé a few months ago (hence why all the writing has come off the tube) and it’s still going strong. The cap is a screw on cap so no need to worry about the cap coming off in your pocket or purse.

One massive downside to this lip balm, other than the price, is the fact that this shit MELTS. I’m not even kidding. It will melt and break off if you’re not careful. Usually when I get home I just put it in the freezer to keep it solid. I’ve had to reshape this a few time but shit me if you think I’m not going to get every damn penny out of this. Good lip balm, shitty non-melting skills. This retails for a wild $24 and you can get it from Sephora by clicking here.

This by far has to be one of the longest posts I’ve ever made, but I hope you enjoyed it! And if you made it all the way to the end then cheers to you, drinks on me. What beauty products are you loving this summer? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading and I’ll catch you next time. Lots of love xx
